Wholesale Monitors for Resellers: Dell, Acer and Samsung Displays in Latin America

Wholesale monitors are the steadiest hardware line a computer reseller can carry in 2026. PC prices are rising 17% this year on memory costs, but a monitor has no RAM and no SSD. So while laptop volumes fall, display demand from offices, schools, gamers and remote workers holds. This guide covers which monitor segments sell in Latin America, why Dell, Acer and Samsung lead reseller demand, how to read the OLED and gaming boom, and how to build a first monitor order from Miami.

Every desk needs a screen. Most now need two. That is the whole business case.

Why are wholesale monitors a strong category while PC sales fall?

Because monitors sit outside the memory squeeze. IDC forecasts global PC shipments to fall 11.3% in 2026, with a 20% year-over-year drop in the fourth quarter. Average PC selling prices are expected to rise 17% as the memory shortage persists into late 2027. [Source: IDC 2026] A monitor contains no DRAM and no NAND. Its cost is panel, electronics and metal. So it is the one piece of desk hardware whose price is not climbing this year.

That matters for a retail buyer in two ways. First, customers who postpone a laptop upgrade often buy a second monitor instead to extend the machine they have. Second, corporate and education buyers who cut PC budgets still refresh displays, because a 24-inch monitor at a stable price is the cheapest productivity upgrade on the list.

The Americas were the only region where PC shipments declined in the first quarter of 2026, down 3.3% while the world grew 2.5%. HP shipped 12.1 million units and Dell 10.3 million in the quarter. [Source: PC Gamer citing IDC and Omdia 2026] Those two vendors also anchor the monitor market, which is why Dell and HP displays attach naturally to the PCs already on Latin American desks.

Which monitor segments sell best to resellers in Latin America?

Office 24-inch and 27-inch IPS by volume, gaming monitors by growth, and USB-C business monitors by margin. The mix follows the buyer:

Segment What moves Typical buyer Brands available through ATC
Office and education 24-inch and 27-inch FHD IPS, VGA and HDMI, VESA mount Corporate, government, schools, call centers Dell, Acer, Samsung
Business USB-C 27-inch QHD with USB-C power delivery and docking Remote workers, SMB, hybrid offices Dell, Samsung
Gaming 27-inch 144Hz to 180Hz, curved VA, 1ms Gamers, 18 to 34, marketplace buyers Acer, Samsung
OLED and premium gaming 27-inch and 34-inch QD-OLED, 240Hz Enthusiasts, content creators Samsung
Large format and TV 32-inch 4K, 43-inch and up smart displays Retail signage, hospitality, home office Samsung, Vizzion

Gaming is the growth engine. Global OLED monitor shipments rose 78% year over year in the first quarter of 2026 as QD-OLED panel supply opened up. ASUS led with 24% share, Samsung held 16.4%, and MSI and AOC/Philips followed at about 12% each. [Source: TrendForce 2026] For a reseller, OLED is the premium shelf. The volume is still in 27-inch 144Hz VA and IPS panels at mid-range prices.

Curved gaming monitors deserve a note. Acer’s curved FHD models are among the most-searched monitor SKUs on our own shop, and the reason is simple. They deliver the gaming look at an office price. Our gaming peripherals guide covers the mice, keyboards and headsets that attach to those sales.

Why do Dell, Acer and Samsung lead wholesale monitor demand?

Because each owns a segment. Dell owns the office. Its P series and E series monitors are the default in corporate procurement across the Americas, and they attach to the 10.3 million Dell PCs shipped in a single quarter. [Source: PC Gamer citing IDC and Omdia 2026] Acer owns value gaming and education, with curved FHD gaming panels and rugged classroom displays at entry prices. Samsung owns the premium and the panel itself, from Odyssey gaming monitors to QD-OLED, where its in-house panel supply gave it 16.4% of the OLED market. [Source: TrendForce 2026]

A reseller does not need twenty brands. Those three cover the office desk, the gaming desk and the premium desk. Add Samsung and Vizzion large-format displays for retail signage and the assortment is complete.

Why does authorized supply matter for wholesale monitors?

Because a monitor is a warranty product, and panel defects show up after the sale. Dead pixels, backlight bleed and failed power boards appear in the first weeks of use. A manufacturer warranty through an authorized channel covers them. A gray import from another region often does not, and the customer brings the monitor back to the reseller.

Authorized supply gives a reseller three things:

  • Regional warranty. Dell, Acer and Samsung honor warranties on regional SKUs sold through authorized channels. Advanced exchange programs, where the brand ships a replacement before receiving the defective unit, are usually only available on authorized stock.
  • Correct power and certification. Regional SKUs ship with the right power cord and the electrical safety marks your market requires, including Mexico’s NOM. Gray units may arrive with the wrong plug and no certificate.
  • Corporate tender eligibility. Government and enterprise buyers require proof of authorized supply. An invoice from an authorized distributor is what gets a reseller onto the approved vendor list.

Colombia shows the stakes. Technology was the largest e-commerce category in the country in 2025 at 17.3% of 145.4 trillion pesos in online sales. [Source: Forbes Colombia citing CCCE 2026] Marketplace buyers read reviews, and a monitor with a dead pixel and no warranty becomes a one-star review that kills the listing. How do import rules and freight affect monitor pricing in 2026?

Monitors are bulky, so freight matters more than on any other category in this series, and country of origin now sets the duty. In Mexico, since 1 January 2026, goods from countries without a trade agreement face duties of 10% to 50% on 1,463 tariff lines, including electronics. USMCA-qualifying goods from the United States are exempt. [Source: Tetakawi 2026] In Colombia, U.S.-origin goods enter at 0% duty under the trade promotion agreement, while general tariffs on consumer goods run 5% to 15%. [Source: Stanford Baker 2026]

On a 150-dollar monitor, a 15% duty swing is the entire reseller margin. So the routing decision is not a detail. Product from a U.S. authorized distributor with USMCA or TPA paperwork lands duty-free in the two largest Spanish-speaking markets. Our posts on importing electronics from Miami to Mexico and the Colombia electronics market cover the paperwork.

Freight planning is the other half. A 27-inch monitor carton is large and light. It does not stack efficiently alone. So the smart move is a mixed pallet: monitors on top, dense cartons like toner, switches and accessories underneath. Our Incoterms guide for electronics importers explains how to quote the shipment, and how to find a freight forwarder for LatAm covers the routes.

How should a reseller build a first wholesale monitor order?

Start with office 24-inch and 27-inch FHD, add one gaming SKU and one USB-C business SKU, and hold OLED until you see sell-through. A practical first order for a store, marketplace seller or SMB reseller:

  • 50% office FHD. Dell and Acer 24-inch IPS as the volume SKU, plus 27-inch for the upsell. These serve corporate, education and call-center buyers and attach to every desktop sale.
  • 20% gaming. One Acer or Samsung 27-inch 144Hz to 180Hz curved model. The marketplace and gamer volume SKU.
  • 15% USB-C business. One Dell or Samsung 27-inch QHD with USB-C power delivery. Higher ticket, sells to remote workers and SMB.
  • 10% large format. One 32-inch 4K and one 43-inch smart display for signage and home office.
  • 5% premium. One Samsung Odyssey OLED for the enthusiast shelf, once the gaming SKU proves demand.

Attach cables and mounts to every monitor sale. HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C cables from Belkin, plus VESA arms, carry the margin a monitor alone does not. Our accessories guide covers the cable side.

Minimums are set by carton, and monitors ship in singles or twos. See MOQs in wholesale electronics. Payment follows the standard pattern of deposit first, then net terms. See wholesale payment terms explained. Corporate resellers with tender volumes usually move to net terms fastest.

One timing note. With PC prices rising 17% this year, the fourth quarter will see buyers choosing between a new laptop and a new monitor. [Source: IDC 2026] Many will choose the monitor. Stock ahead of the season. Our Q4 inventory planning guide covers timing.

Frequently asked questions

Which monitor sizes sell best in Latin America?

24-inch and 27-inch, by a wide margin. The 24-inch FHD IPS is the corporate, education and call-center standard because it fits any desk and any budget. The 27-inch is the upsell for home offices, gamers and anyone running two screens. Larger sizes sell in specific niches: 32-inch 4K for creators, 34-inch ultrawide for premium gaming and finance, and 43-inch and up for signage. Start with 24 and 27, then add sizes as your customer base tells you what it wants.

Should a reseller stock OLED gaming monitors in 2026?

One SKU, on the premium shelf, after the mid-range gaming monitor proves demand. OLED shipments grew 78% year over year in the first quarter of 2026, so the segment is real. But the volume is still in 27-inch 144Hz VA and IPS panels at mid-range prices. Samsung is the natural OLED choice for a Latin American reseller because it makes its own QD-OLED panels and holds 16.4% of the segment. Stock one Odyssey OLED for enthusiasts and content creators. Build the gaming shelf around the mid-range.

Why are monitors a better bet than laptops this year?

Because monitors do not contain memory. IDC expects PC prices to rise 17% in 2026 and shipments to fall 11.3% as the DRAM and NAND shortage persists into 2027. A monitor has no RAM and no SSD, so its cost is stable. Customers who delay a laptop upgrade often buy a second monitor instead. Corporate buyers who cut PC budgets still refresh displays. That makes monitors the one desk hardware category with steady demand and steady margin this year. Laptops still sell, but the monitor is the safer stock this quarter.

Do monitors need certification to import into Mexico?

Yes. Monitors fall under NOM-001-SCFI-2018 for electrical safety and NOM-024-SCFI-2013 for Spanish labeling, manual and warranty information. Some models with tuners or wireless features may also fall under telecom rules. Regional SKUs from an authorized distributor ship with the required marks and the correct power cord. A gray import may not, and customs can hold it or require relabeling at your cost. Confirm with a licensed customs broker, because requirements vary by tariff code and change often.

Next step
